Operator Algebras in Regina

Operator Algebras have a rich history that began with the pioneering efforts of J. von Neumann to understand algebras of operators on a Hilbert space, and those of Gelfand and Naimark regarding spaces of continuous functions over locally compact spaces. Along decades of work, many brilliant mathematicians have contributed to the area and have created many subareas that are buzzing with activity. The faculty members and graduate students in the University of Regina Operator Algebra Group have current research interests in subfactors, mathematical physics, noncommutative dynamics, noncommutative majorization theory, von Neumann algebras, C*-algebras, and operator systems.
